What counts as a "closed deal" for the success fee?
A deal is considered closed when a legally binding licensing agreement or IP transfer is executed between buyer and seller. The success fee is calculated on the total deal value (upfront payment + first-year guaranteed royalties, capped at $50M for fee calculation purposes).
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes. You can change plans at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at your next billing cycle. Any active listings over the new plan limit will be paused until you reduce your active count.
Is the AI valuation estimate binding?
No. AI valuation estimates are for indicative guidance only and are based on market comparables and deal data available to our model. They do not constitute a formal IP valuation and should not be used as the sole basis for pricing decisions.
How does USPTO patent data auto-fill work?
When you enter a patent number, we query the USPTO PatentsView API (a free government database) to automatically populate your listing with the official patent title, abstract, inventors, filing date, and CPC classifications.
